Shua
Shua

As a young man, Shua started his musical role playing the piano. He played and took lessons for a number of years before being turned on to the drums. By the time he reached high school, he was a self taught drummer, following the teachings of Led Zep, Anthrax and a number of speed metal groups. He joined with a band called SHRAPNEL, playing the drums and was intruduced to some people who were very influenced by Rush. After a while, he became interested in the bass and taught himself to play through the courtesy of a friend.

After three years with SHRAPNEL, they broke up and Shua moved on and found a new band called EASY ACCESS, this time playing the bass. Over the course of about a year and a half, EASY ACCESS ,2nd and then placed 1st in school "battles of the bands", and 1st in a local battle against 18 other bands. Eventually, though, the band broke up and moved apart.

Moving along, Shua helped found a new, original trio they called, THINK OF THREE. This time around, Shua sang lead vocals and played bass. Although THINK OF THREE helped enhance and realize Shua's original music, after playing a few places (which included the infamous J.C. Dobbs) THINK OF THREE broke up, but not before putting out a band produced, three song demo called "PERONSALITIES".

After a few years of weeding through "going nowhere" bands, Shua answered an ad in the Musicians Grapevine for a bass player with possible background vocals. At the audition he found this band to be tight and professional. This was, of course, Sierra's Mantra. Shua felt that "Sierra's Mantra" was a group who was becoming one of the few who catch the public eye. That is, of course, how Shua came to be in Sierra's Mantra. You cand find Shua playing both the bass and drums for the band.Shua's precise technique and unique passion definately help bring out the full potential of Sierra's Mantra.
